Kardashians give Gold Coast designer the OK
Single mother Kiri Proctor is becoming a household name with international stylists thanks to her edgy boys wear range that she initially designed for her own children.
Kourtney Kardashian’s son, Mason, is the latest child fashionista to be pictured in the uber-cool Duke of London range, while Instagram child megastar Alonso Mateo has been wearing the label's drop-crotch pants and graphic prints for months.
“The brand is known with WAGs in Australian sporting circles, but I was overwhelmed to see Mason Kardashian wearing my gear this week,” Kiri said.
Bruno Mars' nephews due to appear in a new reality show also wear the trendy apparel. From the NBA to AFL and NRL, the Duke of London craze has taken off in sporting circles with WAGs lining up to place orders for their boys aged six months to six years.
At just 31, Kiri Proctor can't believe the demand for her creations. Launched in May 2012, Duke of London is now stocked by more than ten wholesalers throughout Australia and New Zealand and distributed through a booming Internet business.
"Mothers are ordering the entire new season range before we have even finished manufacturing, it's very humbling," Kiri said.
"Stylish mothers of boys were starved for fashionable choice. There were plenty of cool clothes around for young girls but the boys weren't catered for," Kiri said.
Duke of London is named after Kiri's boys, London, 3 and Duke, 2. The style is revolutionary and radical which is proving right on trend for the fashion forward mothers.
"Initially I just wanted to allow mums to enjoy dressing their boys, now my label has been accepted to appear at NY Kids Fashion Week in March next year.
"I’m just a single mother who has an eye for design. If I can appear in high-end stores across the globe and provide a great future for my children I will be one extremely happy lady."
